Zevenwacht Wine Estate, positioned along the Stellenbosch Wine Route, has a rich viticultural history that is deeply intertwined with South Africa's past. The estate's name translates to Seven Expectations, signifying the numerous pleasures that guests can anticipate when they visit this historic farm.

Zevenwacht is a family-owned and managed estate with a 300-year history. The estate, which was purchased in 1992 by Harold and Denise Johnson, is committed to development and preserving its rich potential beyond wine production. The estate uses two prime farming locations: the home vineyards on Zevenwacht's 450-hectare maritime property and the farm Zevenrivieren, overlooking the Banhoek valley on the Stellenbosch Wine Route. The winery's winemaking philosophy is simple: quality begins in the vineyard, with Hagen Viljoen enticing the best from these unique properties.

Zevenwacht produces a range of wines, including Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. The estate is a member of the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (BWI), a partnership between the South African wine industry and Nature Conservation, aiming to protect ecology, biodiversity, indigenous vegetation, and responsible land use. The estate's picturesque setting, historic Manor House, and rural atmosphere make it an ideal destination for visitors.

ZEVENWACHT ALFRESCO

The Alfresco, a picturesque venue, is perfect for memorable functions, unforgettable weddings, and product launches. It's ideal for events involving over 100 guests, with a maximum capacity of 200 guests without a dancing area and 180 guests with a dancing area.

THE LAPA

Lapa, an all-weather facility, is a charming venue situated in a wooded glade, ideal for hosting 70 guests without a dancing area or 60 guests with one, with a minimum of 40 guests required during high and mid/low seasons.

ZEVENWACHT WALKING & CYCLING TRAILS

We are one of the few private farms open to outdoor visitors for walking, running, and cycling. We offer our community the privilege of enjoying the beauty of the wine farm and request that you do so responsibly.
