Head Over Hills Accommodation in Knysna

We have an excellent selection of spacious deluxe rooms and suites featuring their own private balconies, jet baths, Log fireplaces, Air conditioning, all with stunning Sea Views.

Captains Suite:  Enjoy watching the sun set while relaxing in the spa bath with the indoor fireplace setting the perfect atmosphere. Being positioned on the upper level, this suite offers privacy and excellent views which can be enjoyed while sitting outside on its personal balcony.

Whale Suite:  Positioned on the farthest left hand side of the guest house, the Whale suite has panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and the other famous Knysna Heads Mountain. With its uniquely designed bathroom, being set behind and above the bedroom makes sure that the beautiful view is always in sight.

Elephant Suite:  Luxurious is just one way to describe this suite. With a view facing the ocean, a spacious bathroom including a sauna and exquisite private balcony overlooking the Indian Ocean, there is no better place to unwind and enjoy the surrounding beauty.

Oyster Room:  The ground floor views of both the Indian Ocean and the other Knysna Heads Mountain, makes this modest room have the best of both worlds.

Seahorse Room:  A spaciously open-planned bedroom with straight on and side views of the Indian Ocean and Knysna lagoon makes this room the perfect blend of comfort and natural scenery.

Viewpoint Room:  A straight-on view of the ocean from the bedroom, allows one to embrace their surroundings while relaxing.

Pansy Shell Room:  This is a convenient room, with two single beds and an enclosed bathroom. The view of the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed while relaxing on sun chairs on your personal balcony. 

Dolphin Room:  A beautiful bedroom with an enclosed bathroom and a balcony overlooking the ocean, on which you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Dining at Head Over Hills

When you stay with us at Head over Hills you don’t always have to go out for evening dinner. Maybe you don’t want to miss the stunning sunset or feel like a night in. In season we serve lunch and dinner daily.

Our private chef composes a daily a-la-Carte menu where you can choose to have one, two or three courses​. So stay with us for dinner and enjoy the best view of the sunset in Knysna. To reserve a table for dinner call or email us, alternatively on arrival just inform one of our helpful staff of your request.

Our restaurant is open to non-guests too, so other locals or travellers can still enjoy our magnificent views and food.

Wine Cellar

We are passionate about wine at Head over Hills!  Our wine cellar offers some of the best SA wines and guests can walk in and pick their very own special bottle to enjoy while watching the sunset or with one of our delicious a la carte dinners.

Not only are we very proud of our hand-picked collection but also to say that we have won the highest Diners Club wine list award for several consecutive years! We are very excited and happy to announce that we now have a tasting room.

Golfing in Knysna

At Head over Hills luxury retreat we are very passionate about golf. Knysna is a dream destination for golfers of all levels and we believe Head over Hills is the perfect base for your golfing holiday on and around the Garden Route. There are numerous courses within short driving distance. Pezlua Championship Golf course are only a 5-10 minutes drive away and Jack Nicklaus designed Simola is also very close by. The world renowned Fancourt Links is under an hour drive away. Head over Hills are proud corporate partners with Pezula Championship Golf course and therefore we can offer our guests a preferential rate of ZAR 650.
